Topographical Survey Contract - Riverstick & Environs Flood Relief Scheme

GeoData Surveying was commissioned to carry out a Topographical survey of a 10km stretch of rivers Riverstick and its tributaries between Belgooly and Rivertick to aid in the preparation of a Flood Relief Study for Riverstick and environs, to reduce the fluvial flood risk in the Riverstick area.

The Topographical Surveying Contract involved the surveying of cross-sections of the River Stick and its tributaries between Coolkirky Bridge and Belgooly Bridge, a survey of all structures (bridges, culverts etc.) on the River Stick within the study area, survey of the Ballady culvert on the Fartha stream, survey of sections of several tributaries and several culverts and bridges on tributaries of the River Stick, a survey of the holding tank/pumping station north of Riverstick village.

The Survey was carried out with 3 surveying crews using Robotic Total Stations, GPS and sonar echo sonar with specialist craft with the full Survey delivered 4 weeks from appointment.

The survey was related to the ITM (Irish Transverse Mercator) co-ordinate reference system using a Dual frequency GPS receiver.

On completion of the fieldwork and adjustment, a control report was prepared detailing the methods used, checks applied, any problems encountered and demonstrating that the results achieved are in compliance with the Specification.
